A few months ago, we mentioned
in an update a petition created by our colleagues
at Sirius Glogal Animal Organisation
(http://sirius.2kat.net).
Sirius has gone to great lengths to expose the
incredible fact that Swiss laws allow for the
raising of dogs and cats for human consumption,
resulting in reported cases of this meat being
exported illegally to some regions of
Germany.
To date, this petition has
received a derogatory 2000 signatures. To be quite
frank, the team at ITD are amazed at this. We can
only surmise that people do not believe that this
occurs in Switzerland. Please believe us, IT
DOES!!!
We know that ITD updates are
received by well over 3000 people. To those of you
that have already signed this, our sincere thanks.
To those that haven't yet, please don't postpone
any longer! This petition will be presented to the
Swiss Embassy in London AT THE END OF AUGUST 2003
and Sirius needs your signatures before then.
This date is paramount since the Swiss Assembly
are scheduled to re-assess their Animal Welfare
laws in early
September.
