International Abuse Below you will find reports of other countries that severely abuse what most of us generally regard as "companion animals". This is not intended to list individual acts of cruelty that are punishable by law in the countries concerned, but societies that permit (either by not having relevant legislation or by not enforcing existing laws) acts of extreme cruelty that the majority of people would find abhorrent. Although NONE of us can afford to take a high moral stance, the atrocities below are clearly beyond what most of us would consider acceptable behaviour by any supposedly civilised society. This list is by no means exhaustive and unfortunately more countries will be added to this roll of dishonour over time.
